Bariatric Pre-Surgical Evaluations
Most people who are considering a surgical weight loss procedure, such as bariatric surgery, will be required by their insurance company and/or surgeon to undergo a psychological evaluation as part of the criteria for approval before proceeding.
The goal of the assessment is to make sure the client (1) understands the physiological changes and potential complications associated with the procedure, (2) has demonstrated the ability to make the long-term lifestyle changes required for a safe and effective outcome, and (3) has a plan in place to modify long-standing dietary habits and other behavior patterns (such as binge eating) that might interfere with a successful outcome.
Counseling Concepts offers bariatric pre-surgical evaluations at a cost of $190. The service includes a written assessment to the patient’s insurance company and/or surgeon, which will typically be sent within 24 hours. We do not accept insurance for this service.

Letters for emotional support animals (esa)
We do an evaluation to determine if one qualifies for an emotional support animal. If the client meets the criteria then we will provide an official letter. This can be used for a landlord or travel. To legally make your animal an emotional support animal one must obtain a letter from a licensed therapist.
